We do a lot of counting of change at the jobsite I work at. About eight of us take turns doing the "money chores"
Our old coin counter was constantly jamming and we wasted lots of time clearing it out.
We decided to go with the Royal Sovereign because it was fairly inexpensive and was on sale. WE'RE GLAD WE DID!
The thing has been nearly flawless in the 6 weeks or so that we've had it. It always counts correctly and with its multiple coin tubes it moves the next empty one into position so it can continue without haveing to "reload"

I ordered the coin sorter for my office because we handle many deposits, a lot of which contain coins. It worked great for the first few weeks, but the button that enables the motor to turn has not been working properly after I had to open it up to remove some foreign coins. It still works, I just cannot close the top all of the way.

Its ok. for the amount that I paid for it ($100, the retail is like $275 so I THOUGHT I got a deal) I wish it worked better. It Jams, but I couldnt blame the machine itself. There were some pennies that were stuck together for some reason. But there were times were I would walk away, and come back to find pennies all over the place, like the machine had some difficulty sorting them, but they slipped though the "gate" and just started "spilling" out. So I had to clean that mess up a few times. Also the thing just reset to zero without me touching it. I was sorting a lot of coins, and I dont know if it got to 999.99 or what, but next thing I know the thing stops and the counts are all zero, and there is nothing in the total tally. So that was annoying. The whole reason I spent that much was to count my money
now Im going to have to count the rolls by hand. I also have to check the rolls for too many or too little coins. I haven't seen much contamination (I did see one penny roll with a dime in it). But I have found a few penny rolls 1 penny short, which maybe in the grand scheme of things doesn't really matter, but I am counting change here. The Quaters sorted flawlessly, Dimes were next in terms of flawlessness, Nickles, had a few mishaps, and you know about the pennies. There is no Dollar coin slot which I kind of wish there were, but I only had 24 dollar coins so maybe it probably wouldn't have even filled up a sleeve. There is NO OVER FLOW basin. So when there is a Jam, you have to take the coins out open up the apparatus and take the jamming coin out. The Jams did not break the machine though which I imagine for the cheaper machines, might be the case. Anyways, I got my coins sorted, possibly over 1000$ worth (half a 5 gallon jug), although I don't really know because the thing reset!!! the last count I tallied totaled $884.89 then after the reset It counted $41)

Product was shipped in a timely manner and was also in great condition. The device's design is a good idea, but its functionality is not perfect. Its biggest problem comes from coins that get stuck in the dispensing slots before they go into the tubes. The device will continue to sort coins, and they will stack on top of each other in that section as the collection tubes slide out. Therefore, you can end up with inaccurate counts.

Researched a while trying to find a fast and convenient way to count quarters being collected from a coin operated washer and dryer. If you look around, you will find that there aren't many coin sorting/counting machines that will also load the coins into the preformed paper wrappers.
I had read mixed reviews about the Royal Sovereign product, some saying it is cheap since it is made in China. But then again, nowadays what isn't? Yes the product is made mostly if not all plastic. The internals appear to be made of metal.
Since I am only counting quarters, I can't comment on how well it handles sorting other coin values. I did throw in a couple of dimes and nickels just to see if it sorted them correctly and it did. I can say that rather than sorting and wrapping nearly 800 quarters by hand, it was accurately done without problems using the FS-4DA coin sorter.
While it does only hold 4 preformed paper wrappers per coin value, it is quite easy to take out the tubes that have already been filled while the remaining 1-2 tubes get filled by the machine. Then replace the tubes with empty wrappers, slide the tube holding tray back into the machine *gently* without turning the power off and hit 'Run' again. The LCD display picks up where you left off.
It seems there are other reviewers who have had issues with this model sorting different coins or non-US coins. This may very well be true, but if you are in the unique situation where you know there are only US coins to be sorted and you may only be sorting 1-2 types of different coins, this model does well.
